Had one the time... Let me explain - there is a wonderful classic sensibility clinging softly to this, and other images, collection after collection. And here in this one, my imagination plays tricks with my own sensibility for 'etching'; I look at these scenes and can 'feel the soft smooth nap of etching-paper between my fingers' while looking at the screen! As if the images are themselves wanting to taste the oil and smell the perfume of solvent of being antique Venetian prints! So wonderful these works! -tdp
